When we talk about Nazism that rose in Germany we often relate it to the patriots who wanted revenge and gave rise to Nazism, there was also a difficult economy at that time that people often relate it to. Others say Germans are just that, war hungry which of course is an insult to all Germans who fought the Nazies with all their might who sacrificed themselves. Another popular explanation is of personal feelings , like Hitler was unable to attend the art school or he was homosexual but was unable to show his feelings which of course is a very weak explanation. Another is that Nazies were able to fool people through propaganda, and miscommunication and were able to take control which of course is also a weak explanation because it was through democracy that they achieved power, and as stated earlier, in 1920s 1930s Germans were the most educated people in the world with high level of education.
The primary cause of the rise of Nazism was not economy or revenge but rather the abstract philosophical ideas. The Germans believed the philosophy of national socialism. There were great people , Nobel prize winners who believed in national socialism ideals , but the followers at that time thought of themselves as idealists , as crusaders for the novel cause, which is harder to imagine today. The national socialist in the 1920s were passionate men and women who thought that the world was in a crisis and it needed a moral revolution. The Nazies were power hungry, or that's what we are led to believe. But if followers were power hungry they would not establish a new party but rather join an existing party and make the way up. One truly creates a party if he/she truly believes in the ideology of that party. Nazism began as a new party meaning that people who followed were one who truly believed in it. The party was based initially towards the south of Germany away from the central power. The party grew out of the Germans workers party and it was the lecture by Gottfried Feder in 1919 that attracted Hitler to the party. After that the party name was changed in order to show their principles even better. The major theme of the Nazi program was collectivism, nationalism and socialism . They believed in strong central power.
Clear firm and passionate advocacy of their political goals with efficient organization and propaganda they got increasing democratic democratic success. By 1928 the party had 12 seats in the national parliament and by September 1930 that number increased to 107 and two years later it increased to 230 seats. In January of 1933 after Hitler was appointed chancellor of Germany they took another election where the nazi gained 288 seats which was more seats than their competitors combined and they were now in control. As they promised the nazi quickly moved from constitutional to authoritarian dictatorship and they started by eliminating the rival political parties. Most were banned and pressured to dissolve, and in July they banned the formation of new political parties. In 1934 Hitler removed his rival in the party after knowing earlier that a rebellion was going to start and in this purge 43 rivals and conspirators were executed and many unofficial assassination. In august the president Hindenburg died and hitlor merged the position of chancellor and president and thus obtained more power and almost 90% voted in granting Hitler power. Since the party wanted long term control they set out to change the educational system. The nazi then put censorship in everything from media. It stated that every book , media material , that destroys or may harm the root of German thought, their homes should be destroyed. After trying to control people's minds of the German people they wanted to control even the living style of the people . They even went as far as to control reproduction and eugenics. Through education and censorship they socialized the German minds, and through eugenics they socialized the German body. The economic property all belonged to the nation and one could borrow and use but only for the good of the people. All the Jewish property became nationalized. They dissolved the right to protest and collective bargaining. The German economy became a war economy and under Herman Goring the country’s economy became a war economy in earnest. The re-militarization had been kept a semi-secret and was paid by confiscated funds. The Nazi then made a plan to expand Germany geographically. collectivism, and conflict , nazi made Germans so that their identity is to be found by merging your self with your group and that their group is locked in mortal zero-sum conflict with other groups. This is how they started war from within Germany.
After the allied invasion of western France, Germany gathered the reserve forces and launched a massive counterattack in the Ardennes, which collapsed by January. Soviet forces closing in from the east, invading Poland and east Prussia, and by march west allied forces were closing in crossing the Rhine river. The red army entered Austria and both front quickly approached Berlin the strategic bombing aircraft was also pressuring Germany, with constant bombing and destroying the cities at night. First several months of 1945 Germans defense was fierce, strong but due to shortage of supply and exhausted its option, the allied forces pushed through the German defense in Italy. The Soviet and American troops met at Tortuga , Germany. Then as the soviet took Berlin Adolf Hitler committed suicide on April 30 and the German surrendered on all fronts on may 8. The plan of Hitler to last the thousand year Reich only lasted for 12 years and was full of destruction.
